Personalization isn't just about honoring your loved one's individuality. It also allows family and friends to feel connected to the services and the life being honored. We work closely with you and your family to get to know your loved one's life story so we can make their services as personal as possible.

It's been said that "variety is the spice of life." In our many years of dealing with families in times of death, we realize that, like people, no two funerals are exactly the same. More and more, services are tailored to reflect the life of the deceased; his or her achievements, hobbies, and particular tastes. At Mealey's, we encourage and help our families design these services as a fitting sendoff to a life well lived.

With this in mind, we realize that some individuals have tastes that may be considered to be outside of what at is commonly accepted, especially in the traditional setting of a funeral. However, we believe these individuals should also have every right to tailor a funeral service to celebrate his or her truly unique personality.

This page discusses some of the options that are now available that Mealey's can provide. They aren't for everyone, but they might be for you.

Personalized Urns

Did you know that almost any urn can be customized with engraving, artwork, pendants, or embellishments? We can personalize the urn to reflect who your loved one was during their time here on earth. Whether they enjoyed the beach, fishing, hunting, music, nature etc.- we can customize an urn to include all of these special things. Personalization is available on marble, bronze, stainless steel, brass, titanium and wooden urns.


Art Glass

Art Glass combines cremains with the special art of glass making to create a hand-made, solid glass work of art that is as unique as the loved one it memorializes. Available in all types of shapes and sizes, no two Art Glass pieces are the same. The cremains transform into the swirling bubbles that you find within the glass. This unique piece of glass gives you the ability to hold on to your loved one’s memory forever in the form of beautiful artwork.


Keepsake Jewelry

Keepsake Jewelry gives you the opportunity to keep your loved one close to your heart. It is a reassuring remembrance that brings the memories of your loved one to an even more personal level. This jewelry holds a small portion of cremated remains, a lock of hair, or dried ceremonial flowers. The jewelry comes in many forms, including necklaces, bracelets, and key chains. Among many forms, keepsake jewelry is available in white or yellow gold, bronze, sterling silver, stainless steel, gold vermeil, titanium, and pewter. Engraving may be available.


Fingerprint Jewelry

Fingerprint jewelry is a type of keepsake jewelry that offers remembrances of your loved one through a tangible imprint. We capture your loved one’s fingerprint, handprint, or footprint using ink, which is then preserved in a precious metal. The jewelry comes in many forms including necklaces, rings, and key chains. The fingerprint jewelry is available in 14kt white or yellow gold and sterling silver. Engraving may be available. Mealey Funeral Homes does not take your loved one’s fingerprints unless requested.


LifeGem

Whether someone shines like a diamond or is a diamond in the rough, our loved ones are precious and lasting to us. LifeGem understands that love is more than a memory. To keep those memories with us forever, LifeGem discovered how to extract the carbon from existing cremated remains or a lock of hair to create a beautiful diamond as a memory that will last forever. Diamonds come in a variety of colors, carat sizes, cuts, and settings. The gems are actual diamonds, with amazing clarity and brilliance. Mealey Funeral Homes has been a certified partner with LifeGem since the early 2000's and we have found these diamonds to be remarkably beautiful.

Tribute Blankets

Tribute Blankets are like a hug that lasts forever. These unique 100% cotton blankets have a soft, comforting nature. They are personalized using a photograph of a lost loved one and can be made in time for display for a visitation or memorial service. And, they are woven in the USA.

Life Tribute Videos

We'll create a one-of-a-kind Tribute Video by combining family photographs, music of your choice, and professional effects to share your loved one's special journey during the service. This video also is available as a DVD and meaningful keepsake after the ceremony is over.


Personalized Stationary

Personalized stationary with your loved one’s photo or special image is an easy way to hold on to your loved one’s memory. Mealey’s can personalize almost anything by request including memorial cards, laminated obituaries, programs, candles, medallions, and more.
