Marie Curlett Phillippe

Marie Curlett Phillippe, 1/7/1928-10/29/2019

Marie passed away at her current residence at the age of 91. She was born and raised in Oak Grove, DE and was the daughter of the late David B. and Lillian W. Curlett. Marie was a graduate of Conrad High School and was employed by the DuPont Company for 39 years.

Marie enjoyed dancing, golfing, bowling, traveling, reading, and doing many activities with her many friends.

Mrs. Phillippe is survived by two grandsons, Jeremy Adam and Christopher Russell Starrett, who were her two greatest treasures and took care of her in her final days; and four great grandchildren, Jeremy, Nicole, Kaitlyn, and Aidan Starrett.

Mrs. Phillippe’s second husband, Furman D. Phillippe Sr., predeceased her in 1982, leaving her with a devoted and caring second family, including three sons, daughter in-laws, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Monday November 4th from 11 A.M. to 12 P.M. with a memorial service beginning at 12 P.M. at the Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Road Wilmington, DE 19808. Burial will be held privately at Silverbrook Cemetery.

Adam, Chris and Richard, I am so very sorry for your loss. I have not seen Marie since she moved to Dover, but I called her a few times and I thought of her often. We were just remembering her yesterday. So sorry
