Judith Anne (Wivel) Walsh

Judith Anne (Wivel) Walsh passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 8, 2018.  She was born in Wilmington, Delaware on August 24, 1939 to the late Lauren Sherman and Anna Johnson Wivel.

Judy graduated from the University of Delaware with a degree in Special Education.  She taught briefly in Charlotte, NC then moved back to Delaware where she raised her three children.  After her children were grown, she recertified at the University of Delaware and went on to teach Special Education for over 15 years at Delcastle Technical High School where she retired in 2004 with perfect attendance.

She is survived by her children Lauren (Gabe), Lynne, Patrick (Debbie), her two grandchildren Brendan and Keira, and her two sisters Laurraine and Lois.

A visitation with the family will be held on Thursday, March 15th from 1:30-3:30pm at Mealey Funeral Home  2509 Limestone Road  Wilmington, DE 19808.

I am so sorry to hear of Judy's passing. She was such a beautiful person inside and out. It has been years since I've seen her, probably when I visited Aunt Anna and she was there. May your grief turn to peace.
