FAMILY-OWNED AND OPERATED SINCE 1912

Deborah Perrin Lambert Heitmann

Deborah Perrin Lambert Heitmann, 67, of Wilmington, DE died on June 18th, 2017, at the Heartland Hospice House after a brief period of failing health.

Deborah was born in Ithica, NY in 1950 to Frank and Deborah Lambert. She was the eldest of six daughters, Suzannah, Elizabeth, Maria, Alison, and Emily.  Deborah loved the peaceful days growing up on the farm in McGraw, NY, picking berries, playing with kittens, and the stray dogs that eventually called the farm their home. She especially loved visits from her grandparents who gave her special individual attention, a rare thing for Deborah with so many sisters.

The family moved to Delaware where Deborah married and had one son, Frank Lambert Heitmann. She lived in Delaware for the remainder of her life.

Deborah is survived by her son, her daughter-in-law, Brittany Heitmann, and her grandson, Gavin, now 3 years old. She is also survived by her mother, Deborah Elizabeth Fogg Lambert of New London, NH; sisters Suzannah Lambert of Sausalito, Ca, Elizabeth Lambert of Bethesda, Md, Maria Lambert of  Wilmington, De, Alison Vernon of New London, NH, and Emily Finch of Kent Island, Md; and many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends.

Special thanks to the social services of Delaware for their excellent care and love. A private service is planned.

We wanted to share our condolences with the Heitmann and Lambert families. It is never easy to have to say goodbye to a loved one. The pain of loss can be unbearable. Our Creator promises us that one day this pain will be just a memory. That beautiful promise can be found at Revelation 21:3, 4. Our pain and suffering will be a thing of the past, and we can cry tears of joy as we welcome back the ones that we love so much. We hope you find comfort in those promises.

I was very saddened to have learned of Debbie's passing. We went to high school together, and she was my prom date during my senior year. I think of her often ... and had wondered what had happened to her over the years, and her whereabout. She will be remembered at the Greenwood HS Alumni Association's annual Alumni Banquet, on May 12, 2018. I will be the presiding officer at this function, and will give a blessing in Debbie's honor. I still have the prom picture of us, taken in May, 1969. She looks remarkably the same. Aging was kind to her. Blessings and peace.
