Sandra A. Smith Heyse

It is with extreme sadness that the family of Sandra Smith Heyse shares the news of her passing.

Sandy was the daughter of the late Anthony (A.J.) Smith and Helen Smith. Sandy attended St. Hedwig Elementary and High School and the University of Delaware. She was employed by the General Motors Corporation at its Wilmington plant for over 30 years serving in the Human Resources, Accounting and Quality Assurance departments.

Sandy is survived by her husband, Jack; her brother, Jim Smith; stepson, John Heyse (Tanya); stepdaughter, Dawn Gentry (Will); 6 grandchildren, one great grandson; her beloved Bichon, Lulu; and dear cousins, in-laws, and friends.

She will be loved and missed until the end of time.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday December 14, 2018, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 901 New Road, Elsmere, DE at 10:30 A.M. where friends may call after 9:30 A.M. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, her family requests contributions be made to the University of Pennsylvania Abramson Cancer Center, 3400 Civic Center Blvd. Philadelphia, PA 19104.

Sandy was a sweet soul and she will be missed by all of the Heyse clan in Cincinnati and Norfolk. She always had a smile and a willingness to be your friend. Fred and I will miss our sister in law very much.

Sandy and I were the best of childhood friends and spent so many years sharing the adventures of growing up from elementary school through college. She was one of my dearest, closest and trustred friends. We knew how to have fun and had great affection for each other. Sandy leaves me with lots of good memories. My husband Jack and I extend our condolences to her entire family. We hope you will find comfort in rememberinng the joy she brought to living.
