Robert J. Porter

Robert J. Porter, age 87, of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully on January 22, 2018 at Seasons Hospice. 

Born in Albany, NY, Robert was the son of the late Anna Mae (Drennan) and Robert Porter. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and went on to work in IT services at Unisys for 34 years. Robert enjoyed teaching and playing bridge: earning the title of Silver Life Master. He was a member of St. John the Beloved Church for 54 years, where he taught CCD, and was a 4th Degree and charter member of the Knights of Columbus Council #11796.

In addition to his parents, Robert was predeceased by his son, Richard Porter. Robert will be dearly missed by his wife of 58 years, Pauline (Bolduc) Porter of Wilmington, DE; his sons, Michael (Bonnie) Porter of Elkton, MD, Stephen Porter of Seattle, WA, and Kevin (Rachael) Porter of Syracuse, NY; and his four grandchildren, Anne Lorice, Kelvin, Colby, and Caleb.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday February 9th, 2018 at 11AM, where friends may call from 10AM-11AM at St. John the Beloved Catholic Church, 907 Milltown Road Wilmington, DE 19808. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Knights of Columbus Council #11796, 907 Milltown Road Wilmington, DE 19808, or the Newark Senior Center, 200 White Chapel Drive Newark, DE 19713.

I'm so sorry for your loss. He was special in all your lives and though I haven't been there I share in your sorrow. He has often been in my thoughts and know he will be greatly missed.May the Lord hold you closely and you find comfort in His arms.
