Paul J. Sheridan III

Age 66, of Middletown, DE, passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital.

Born in Wilmington, Paul was the son of the late Zelma (Wilgis) and Paul J. Sheridan, Jr.  He was a graduate of Claymont High School and the University of Delaware and earned his Master’s Degree from Central Michigan University. He served his country proudly in the US Army as Captain in the mid 1980’s.   He was a self-employed general contractor and he owned Paul Sheridan Residential Contracting.  An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing with the Golden Rule Fishing Club and was a member of the Pennington Heights Hunting Club.

Paul will be dearly missed by his son and daughter-in-law, Paul J., IV and Jenifer of Wilmington; his daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Mark Donathan of Philadelphia, PA; four grandchildren, Cassie, Kate, Grace and Jack; and his sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Jeff Bennett of San Antonio, TX.

Friends and family are invited to visitation on Monday, December 11th from 6 PM and 8 PM at Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington where funeral services will be held on Tuesday morning at 9:30 AM.  Burial will follow at 11 AM at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the American Heart Association, 200 Continental Drive #101, Newark, DE 19713.  Condolences may be made by visiting

Was great to see Paul a few months ago at a luncheon. Had not seen since 1968. May Paul RIP in GODS very capable. Will be missed much, I am certain.

My long time friend of thirty + years. We often talked about our military experiences and our camping and fishing trips. He was a leader, a friend, and would always be available to lend a hand. I will miss my soldier buddy !
