Patrick D. Finnegan

Patrick D. Finnegan, age 72, of Wilmington, DE passed away on Wednesday August 8, 2018 at his home.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Frances (Pribulick) and Leo Finnegan. He worked as a spot welder for Boeing for over 25 years. Patrick had celebrated over 30 years of sobriety and was very active in the AA society, often volunteering his time to outreach and the support of other members. Patrick was also a devoted parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. In addition to his parents, Patrick was predeceased by his sister and brother-in-law Frances and Jerry O’Hara, his sister-in-law, Kathy Finnegan, and his brother-in-law, Stanley Markizon.

Patrick is survived by his loving wife, Beverly (Gallagher) Finnegan; his children, Matthew Pinto (Hailey) and Jennifer Quinn (Brendan), both of Wilmington, DE; his grandchildren, Brendan Jr., Declan, and Logan Quinn; his sisters, Margaret Markizon of Wilmington, DE and Mary Jane Nestor (Michael) of Glen Mills, PA; his brother, Michael Finnegan of Lederach, PA; his brother-in-law, Bryan Gallagher; his aunt, Josephine Mangold; his lifelong friend, Zack Feeney; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday August 14th at 12 PM, where friends and family are invited to a visitation from 10:30 AM to 12 PM, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 3200 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703. Burial will be private.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105, or Holy Rosary Catholic Church, at the above address.
