Jaime Renee Coleman Stevens

A beloved wife, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, niece, and friend, Jamie Renee Coleman Stevens, age 41, gained her heavenly wings on January 25, 2019, surrounded by family and friends. Born on December 16, 1977 to James “J.D.” and Sharon Coleman of Hartly, Delaware, she graduated from Dover High School in 1995 and earned her AS and BA in Graphic Design at Wilmington University.

In 2008, wearing ruby slippers, she wed her Mad Hatter, Carl Stevens, on Halloween. Carl and Jaime shared a love of art, music, film, and their beloved pets: Honey, Napoleon, Copper, Jasper, Kit, Poe and Orion.

Jaime was a kind and thoughtful friend to all. She was always there when you needed someone to listen. She loved animals and worked to help those without a home. She was very creative and put so much thought into the gifts we all cherish. Most of all, she loved being with her loved ones and making them feel special. She had a beautiful soul that she shared freely with all who loved her.

Jaime is survived by her husband Carl Stevens; parents J.D. and Sharon Coleman; grandmother Margie Phillips; brother Jason Coleman and his wife Leigh Ann; brother Jeffrey Coleman and his wife Amber; nieces Eleanor and Chloe Renee; father-in-law Mac Stevens and mother-in-law Cheryl; sister-in-law Erica Stevens and her husband TJ; nieces Raelyn and Rowen; aunts and uncles Karen, Ronnie, Betty, Lisa, and Mark; cousins Ronnie Jr., Sarah, and Stephanie; godfather Jake Yoder; godsister Donna Moore; godbrother Larry Yoder; and second mom Sharon Pendleton.

A celebration of her life will take place at Wyoming United Methodist Church, 216 Wyoming Mill Rd, Dover, DE 19904 on Saturday, February 2 at 11 a.m with a reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, her family requests donations be made in her memory to Faithful Friends Animal Society, 12 Germay Dr, Wilmington, DE 19804 and Delaware SPCA, 455 Stanton Christiana Rd, Newark, DE 19713.
