Geoffrey T. Alexander, Sr.

Geoffrey T. Alexander, Sr., age 60, of Wilmington passed away on Friday, December 27, 2019.

Born and raised in Wilmington, DE, Geoffrey was the son of Elizabeth Kupidlowski and the late George H. Alexander. He met and married his high school sweetheart of 43 years, Lori, in 1988. He worked in the Philadelphia Navy Yard as a pipefitter before joining the Local 451 as an Ironworker, where he spent over 20 years of his career. Geoffrey was a proud member of the Local 451 and leaves behind many close friends, whom he considered his brothers. Geoffrey loved cooking, fishing, spending time outdoors, and had a special pride in the “Man Cave” he had created in his shed. He was also a member of the Durney Post and the St. Anthony’s Club.

In addition to his father, Geoffrey is predeceased by his sister, Celeste Alexander-Everett; and his father-in-law, Donald J. Grier. 

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Lori (Grier) Alexander; his son, Geoffrey T. Alexander, Jr; his mother, Elizabeth Kupidlowski and her husband, Charles; his mother-in-law, Antoinette Grier; his siblings, George (Nancy), Greg (Lisa), Gary, Ave, Glenn, and Gerry Alexander; his brother-in-law, Ted Everett; his sisters-in-law, Donna (Pat) Durnan and Kelly (Jim) Rodick; his nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and his best friend, Ronnie Taylor.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 10, 2020 at 11 A.M. at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 901 N DuPont Street Wilmington, DE 19805. Burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Faithful Friends, 12 Germay Drive Wilmington, DE 19804. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.mealeyfuneralhomes.com.

Lori, I’m in shock in hearing about this sad news. You and Geoffrey just 7weeks ago sent me a beautiful dish garden in memory of my wonderful husband.who had just passed. I just can’t believe this!!!
