Dorothy "Jean" Coverdale Noel

Age 84, of Bear, DE, passed away peacefully at Cadia Rehabilitation Center in Wilmington on Thursday, May 18, 2017.

Born in Washington D.C. on March 1, 1933. Jean was the daughter of the late Rev. Kenneth M. Kepler and Kathleen Neale Kepler. She worked as a teacher, and the Newark branch of the YWCA. Later she was the Newark Community Center Director and then became the Merchandise Manager for K-Mart.

For 35 years, she was a devoted volunteer for the Dickinson Theatre Organ Society Music shop and past member of the board of Directors for the Dickinson Organ Society. She was a lifetime board member of the Parastudy, Inc.

Jean is predeceased by her late husband, Robert Edward Noel, and survived by her children, Jean Elizabeth Kensinger, James Edward Coverdale, Jr., John Andrew Coverdale, and Johanna Coverdale Freebery;  stepchildren Duane, Robin and Christopher Noel; her grandchildren, Shawn Edward Davis, Victoria and Christina Coverdale, and Meghan Kathleen Freebery; step grandchildren, Loren and Derrick Noel; and three great grandchildren. Also surviving are her sister and brother-in-law, Mary Kathleen and Frank Sapp; and her brother and sister-in-law Kenneth and Lillian Kepler Jr.

A memorial Celebration of Life will be held on June, 9th at Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington DE. Friends and family are invited to the gathering from 11-12 with a service to follow at 12:00PM

I have great memories of Aunt Jean. Kindergarten with Johanna, dance classes and trips to Philadelphia for the coveted toe shoes. May she rest surrounded in peace and beauty. Here is to her family and friends, May you find peace and comfort in your memories. Fondly, Jen "Baldwin" Barnes
