Doris T. Martin

Doris T. Martin, age 91, of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at her home on January 24, 2020. Born in Minersville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Margaret (Reiss) and Edward Brady. Prior to being a homemaker for her three daughters, she worked at the Du Pont Company and later worked as the Librarian at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic School for many years. She was a long-time member of St. Elizabeth Parish and active in their Outreach program. In addition to her parents, Doris was predeceased by nine siblings, and her husband, James P. Martin.

Doris is survived by her daughters and their spouses, Susan Martin of Land O’Lakes, FL, Teresa and Robert DiDonato of Newark, DE, and Mary Frances and Stephen Gebhart of Newark, DE; her grandchildren, Derek, Zachary, Evan, Andrew and James; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2020, at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church, 809 S. Broom Street, Wilmington, DE at 12 P.M., where friends and family are invited to a visitation after 11 A.M. Burial will follow in Cathedral Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Season’s Hospice at or Season’s Hospice Foundation, 8537 Solution Center, Chicago, IL 60677.
