Brooks A. Gibson

Brooks A. Gibson, 55 of Hockessin passed away suddenly on May 12, 2018 at Reading Hospital in Pennsylvania.

Brooks was born in Concord, MA the son of Jeanette (Clark) and the late Robert E. Gibson. He had worked as a driver for Delaware Express for 10 years, and as a courier. His hobbies included playing and collecting guitars, playing at open mike nights, fishing and spending time in the Catskills and Adirondacks. Brooks was a long-time Eagles fan and enjoyed watching them win the Super Bowl. His father, Robert E. Gibson, passed away on April 13, 2018.

Brooks is survived by his mother, Jeanette Gibson; his brothers, Bruce, Brian and Barry and his partner, Becky Lacey; his niece, Ariel Moore and her husband, Nathan; his nephews, Jacob Foster and Ezekiel Gibson, and his beloved cat, Rudy.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 1:30 PM at the MEALEY FUNERAL HOME, 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington, where friends may call after 1:00 PM. Burial will be private.

I am very sorry to pick the paper up today and find Brooks obituary listed.He told me all of the things he was planning to do and how much stronger he was planning to become .We spoke about a visit to see me in my new home and about my son Teddy, who has a Tremedic Brain Injury and some of the things they did as teenagers. Dear Jeanette and family, I am sorry and sad to see Brooks obituary in the paper today. The last time I talked to the two of you was about a month ago,at Bob's service. He told me all he was planning to do and how hard he was going to work to be healthy and stronger. We talked about Ted Jr.and his brain injury and some of the things they did together as teenager's.
