Anna C. Petrucci

Age 84, of Frankford, DE, passed away suddenly at the Christiana Hospital on March 11, 2018, surrounded by her family.

Born in Wilmington, Anna was the daughter of the late William and Catherine (Oat) Henry. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, William, Lawrence, Joseph, and Michael Henry. Ann was a 1951 graduate of Wilmington High School and a former member of St. Matthew’s Church. As Ann began her career, she worked for Woolworth’s Five & Dime and also, in the purchasing department at DuPont. Her most recent position of 22 years, she was a unit clerk for the Wilmington Medical Center until her retirement.

Ann had a lifelong passion for crocheting and sharing her creations with family and friends. She loved spending the mornings in her sun room with her husband watching her hummingbirds. Ann loved jigsaw puzzles, Sudoku, and crossword puzzles. She was an avid Philadelphia Eagles, and Villanova Basketball fan. Ann retired to the beach as she loved the sand between toes, and jumping waves with her grandchildren. Most noteworthy was Ann’s love for her family and friends.

Ann will be dearly missed by her husband of 63 years, Joseph W. Petrucci Jr; her children, Marguerite Heider (Gordon) of Paducah KY, Joseph W Petrucci III (Karen) of Pike Creek, Robert M Petrucci (Cora) of Newark, and Joann Dembkowski (Patrick) of Wilmington; her eleven grandchildren, JoAnna Brown (Chris), Melissa Heider, Sarah Claycomb (Chris), Amanda Petrucci, Amber Fedorkowicz, Ashley Fedorkowicz, Scott Sarver, Nate Heider (Kerrie), Andy Heider (Selina), Lindsey Dembkowski, and Patrick Dembkowski Jr. Also, survived by eleven great grandchildren Justin, Makayla, Bailey, Katelyn, Drew, Jackson, Madison, Aiden, Carter, Adelina, and Penelope, and her sisters, Marguerite White of Ocala, FL, Cassie Cathell (Paul) and Patricia Coll (David), both of Middletown.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 16, 2018   11:30 at St. Matthew’s Church, 901 E. Newport Pike, Newport where visitation will begin two hours prior. Entombment will follow at All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association, 240 N. James St. #100A, Newport, DE 19804 or Little Sisters of the Poor, 185 Salem Church Road, Newark, DE 19713.
