Margaret "Ann" Gilroy

Margaret Ann Gilroy, age 90, of Wilmington, Delaware passed away peacefully on Friday, August 18, 2017 after a brief illness. Born on November 8, 1926 in Atlantic City, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Michael Gilroy and the late Marguerite (Cooney) Gilroy.

Ann retired after 26 years as an Administrative Assistant at Atlas, ICI and Astra Zeneca. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and was an avid reader, but the true joy of her life was spending time with her family.

Ann is survived by her sister, Mary (Gilroy) Connor and husband John; Nephews John Connor (Linda), Michael Connor (Bernadette), Mark Connor (Jacqueline); Nieces Marianne Cowan (William), Jane Caton (Daniel) as well as a Great Niece and six Great Nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00AM on Friday, August 25th at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 301 North Bancroft Parkway, Wilmington, DE. 19805 A brief visitation will begin at 9:30AM at the Church. Interment immediately following at Cathedral Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Thomas  the Apostle Catholic Church at the above address in Ann’s name.

I am very sorry to read of Ann"s passing. I worked with her in the Atlas Engineering Dept in the sixties and she was a good friend of my wife, Liz, who passed away this last January. Ann was always great to be around and work with as well as fun to be around.My sincere condolences to the family......Lou LaRocca
